As of the 1st June 2014 Apollo Aerospace Components Limited has become a part of Supply Technologies, a subsidiary of Park-Ohio Holdings Corp, a listed company on the NASDAQ stock exchange (PKOH). We sat down with Jason Crabtree, Managing Director of Apollo Aerospace Components to talk about the acquisition and the history of his company.
Prior to the acquisition, the company could best be categorised as a specialist regional player operating within the Global Aerospace & Defence Markets for more than 30 years.
Many of our products are used in flight critical and extremely demanding applications. In total we sell products to 200 customers in any financial year which involves the supply of over 6,000 individual part numbers. In 2013 we supplied directly to 23 different countries. The majority of our business, however, is encompassed within the aforementioned key customers and managed under long-term agreements. We implement and operate a wide range of added value solutions covering all of their C class and certain B class requirements. We continually seek to align ourselves with these organisations so we can deliver the maximum amount of added value whilst always being recognised for our reliability, quality, flexibility, and responsiveness. These four characteristics remain central to the culture of the company.
Our customers build large and small airframe structures, a variety of engine-related components, and a wide range of specialist equipment for many of the world's most successful aircraft programmes.
Apollo supplies parts that find their way onto aircraft, such as the:
Airbus A380, A350, A330, A320, A400M, CN295
Boeing 787, C17, 777
Sikorsky S92
ATR 72
Lockheed Martin C130J
Eurofighter Typhoon
Today with the help of our new owner we are progressively evolving into a different animal. Combining Apollo's expertise, specific industry capabilities, key customer and supplier relationships, required accreditations and approvals with Supply Technologies' considerable resources and tremendous skill set across all of the principle Supply Chain disciplines, means that we can follow through on our ambitious plans for future development of the business. We will operate as a fully integrated part of Supply Technologies to steadily develop the levels of penetration into the wider marketplace across Europe, Asia, and North America. Collectively we can, in the years ahead, make Aerospace & Defence a more substantial and important part of the total business portfolio.
Consensus
We have in support of our expansion plans over the last three years established facilities in Poland, India, and France, in addition to expanding our main base in the UK. Our core growth strategy is centred on the development of our market position within these specific geographies and importantly across the entire networks of around 15 specific customers who themselves operate from multiple manufacturing locations close to our facility footprint.
Since becoming part of the Supply Technologies team, we are progressing well with the essential integration activities involving systems and operating structure of the business. This is in line with the Supply Technologies strategy and is required in order to maximise the many opportunities that exist and exploit the obvious synergies. We intend to utilise the full extent of the excellent of the technology available to us, as well as adopt many of the proven processes. We are extremely delighted and grateful for the considerable support and encouragement we have received from our new colleagues across the business. We feel proud to be part of the ongoing success story. We are now a larger more capable company that has an exciting future.
