Supply Technologies' Budapest team supports local families through winter donations

Turning surplus materials into meaningful community support

The Supply Technologies branch in Budapest is making a meaningful difference in its local community by supporting families through the harsh winter months, using surplus materials to help meet basic needs.

Located at Ócsai út 1–3 in Budapest, the branch has been donating broken pallets and other suitable waste materials to families experiencing significant hardship. In some areas of Hungary, households lack access to essential utilities such as running water or gas, making winter particularly challenging and forcing families to make difficult choices between heating their homes and purchasing food.

Supporting families during the toughest months of the year

Rather than allowing usable materials to go to waste, the Budapest team, led by warehouse manager, Laszlo Kormos, collects broken pallets that can be safely used for heating and delivers them directly to families in need. The initiative has expanded through collaboration with local partners, including a pallet supplier who now contributes additional materials to increase the scale of the support.

Each year in January, the team organizes a larger donation drive, combining pallets with food and clothing to provide practical help at a critical time of year.

A local initiative driven by compassion and teamwork

Vera Vajthó, Branch Manager at Supply Technologies’ Budapest facility, said the project reflects the commitment of the local team to supporting its community.

“We see first-hand how difficult winter can be for some families in our area. By working together and using the resources we already have, we’re able to make a real difference, even in small but meaningful ways.”
