Supply Technologies has officially opened a new facility in Doagh, County Antrim, increasing the size of its Northern Ireland operation by tripling its cubic capacity to support continued growth in customer demand.

The new facility represents a $1 million investment and forms part of Supply Technologies' wider $50 million investment strategy in new facilities, systems and people. It replaces the company's previous Antrim operations.

Investing in growth in Northern Ireland

With the former branch occupying a smaller space across four separate units, the company has now brought its warehousing and office functions together under one roof and added new facilities in a kitting workshop, a quality laboratory and an innovation center.

Supply Technologies sources, manages and supplies components used in the manufacture of products for sectors ranging from semiconductors and data centers to transport and industrial machinery.

The expansion follows significant growth in its Northern Ireland business and increasing demand from manufacturers for its technical expertise and specialist supply chain management and other value-added services. This has encouraged the company to invest in expanded facilities to support the growth of customers in the country.

The official opening was attended by senior executives from Supply Technologies and its parent company ParkOhio, including Matthew Crawford, Chief Executive Officer of ParkOhio, and Brian Norris, President of Supply Technologies. Former US Ambassador to Ireland Edward F. Crawford was guest of honor and joined the company's leadership team for the ribbon-cutting ceremony.

Located close to the M2 motorway, the Doagh facility provides a central base from which Supply Technologies will serve customers throughout Northern Ireland. The relocation has also enabled the company to retain its existing workforce of 20 while providing additional space and capacity for future growth and additional employment.

James Smetham, Managing Director, Europe & Asia at Supply Technologies, said: “Our business in Northern Ireland has grown significantly, and this investment reflects both that growth and our confidence in the opportunities ahead. Moving from four separate units into one larger facility gives us the space and infrastructure to operate more efficiently, strengthen our technical capabilities and continue developing the services we provide to customers.

“Doagh is an excellent location for us, keeping us close to our customer base while allowing us to retain the experienced team that has been central to our success in Northern Ireland.”

Expanding technical and supply chain capabilities

The new branch includes a dedicated kitting department, an innovation center and a quality inspection laboratory, supporting Supply Technologies' ability to manage complex component requirements and provide manufacturers with greater control over quality, availability and supply chain performance.

Supporting manufacturers with reliable supply chain solutions

The investment comes as Supply Technologies continues to experience strong growth internationally, following record monthly performance both globally and across its Europe & Asia operations.

Brian Norris, President of Supply Technologies, said: “Manufacturers are increasingly looking to mitigate any supply chain disruptions, and our customers expect us to have product locally to ensure uptime in their operations. Alongside our technical expertise, reliable sourcing and inventory management, this facility gives us more space to house products for our customers, helping them reduce lead times.”

Supply Technologies provides supply chain management solutions for fasteners and assembly components, combining global sourcing, engineering and quality expertise with inventory management and point-of-use delivery through its Total Supply Management™ approach.

Edward F. Crawford, former US Ambassador to Ireland and a longstanding figure in international industrial business, said: “Investment in facilities such as this reflects the confidence businesses have in the people, skills and manufacturing capabilities that support their customers.

“It is particularly pleasing to see Supply Technologies building on its established presence in Northern Ireland, retaining its experienced workforce and creating the capacity to support further growth. I congratulate everyone involved in bringing this new facility into operation.”

The official opening included tours of the new premises and a ribbon-cutting ceremony attended by customers, employees and invited guests.
